Many tourists to Hawaii arrive on trans-Pacific cruises that visit a number of the Hawaiian islands.

Although Lahaina doesn't have a large enough port for such large vessels, cruise ships often anchor offshore.  Passengers must then shuttle back and forth in landing craft.
