Maui Hawaii Tourist Information and Vacation Guide
Built in 1859, the Old Lahaina Courthouse stands elegantly between America's largest banyan tree and the picturesque Lahaina harbor.
The building was once home to the customs office and town jail, in addition to the courthouse.
When Hawaii was annexed by the United States in 1898, the annexation documents were signed in this historical building.
Today, the Lahaina Heritage Museum occupies the main building and an art gallery has been established in the former jailhouse.
