Above the Clouds in Maui

Visitors to the summit of the Haleakala Volcano on Maui Hawaii can enjoy a spectacular view from the summit of the 10,000 foot mountain. 

Given the high elevations and thin air, visitors should be careful not to overexert themselves at this altitude.  Even the young and healthy will notice a shortness of breath when hiking uphill.

It is also a good idea to bring along some sunscreen to shield yourself from the strong rays.  There are few places on earth where you will receive more sunrays than at the top of Mt. Haleakala.
